It’s that time of year again! Back to Homeschool!  This makes it Tool Time.. Who else is excited? It’s always fun to get ready for the new year. Kids enjoy it as much as parents! Don’t go into the new year unprepared! In this episode, we take a look at the tools you need to get ready to tackle the near year. Whether you are new to homeschooling, or a veteran, we have you covered. What should you fill your “tackle box” with? What do you need to do to get ready? We go over the list of items you might want to have in your arsenal.

Plus, there is something so fun about picking out new school supplies and having all of your household areas covered and ready to go! Get the kids involved. Let them help make a list of items you need to pick up. It is fun for younger kids to pick-out their own supplies (with mom’s help, of course)

In this podcast, Suzanne and Sharon look at the importance of voting. We look at ways to be more civically involved and why it is important. Get out the Vote! As Florida’s homeschooling association, we recognize the importance of knowing about who our representatives are. Who will be writing and passing future legislation that could impact homeschooling families. It is both important and our responsibility as homeschoolers to vote with an informed education on who is running and what their platform is. Not sure how to become more involved and informed on the candidates? Listen in and learn about some tips and strategies to be more informed.

  • Get involved with a candidates campaign

It’s Summer time!! In this podcast, we look at ways to take a vacation without leaving home! Take a STAYCATION. There are many great ways to enjoy your time off while not leaving home. A staycation is friendly on the family budget too! Explore your area and get to know your state better. You don’t need to go far to relax and have a fun time with family. Florida is possibly one of the best places to take a family staycation. We have so many parks, springs, historical sites and of course, the beach. Florida is blessed with many bodies of water, to get out in the summer time. Florida also has a very rich history, and many locations across the state have places to explore Florida’s past.

Central Florida is the tourist capitol of the world! we are blessed to live in a state that people vacation in! We don’t have to go very far to have a fun time!

It’s Summer time!! And it’s time to get unplugged!! Remember the lazy days of summer when you were a kid? Before the time of all the electronics and devices? Want to help your kids create some lasting memories? Help your kids unplug this summer! Listen in as we talk about a Summer unplugged.

Suzanne and Sharon reminisce about past childhood summers!  We take a walk down memory lane and look at some fun, old fashioned summer fun! There are many ways to have fun in the Summer outside and inside, for those rainy days!

We also look at some good summer reading books. Get outside and have enjoy your SUMMER UNPLUGGED!

  • Make fresh squeezed lemonade.
  • Find old games that todays kids might not know – pick-up sticks, jacks, old card games.

  • Take some beach days!
  • Catch fireflies
  • Find a family favorite movie and do a movie night.
  • Find a local drive-in theater
  • Explore your town parks
  • Go camping
  • Do backyard camping
