Finances and Hope Shifting – HIRL Episode 99

A Production of the Ultimate Homeschool Podcast Network.

HIRL-Episode-99In this final installment of our three-part series on financial fear, we’re returning to our roots and discussing how hope shifting can factor into our fear when it comes to finances.

More regularly described as idolatry, “hope shifting” simply means that we’re putting our hope in something other than God for our well-being and care, a habit that comes easily to many of us living and working in first-world countries. How does the idea that we can and should provide for ourselves and our families too often morph into a belief that our hard work and stockpiling will be what ultimately brings us security?

We’re talking all about hope shifting, finances, and the freedom that relying on the true provider can bring to our marriages and families.

Financial Strain – HIRL Episode 75

A Production of the Ultimate Homeschool Podcast Network.

Free homeschool podcast about holiday finances. For the next few weeks, we are producing a mini-series of episodes called: Surviving the Holidays. On this first episode, we are focusing on the financial strain the holidays can cause. How do we look at our holiday spending in light of the gospel? How do we communicate as a family the importance of the holiday in light of the abundance displayed by our culture? And most importantly, how do we participate and celebrate in commerce and gift-buying without shifting our hope?

Join Fletch and Kendra as they sit down with friend and financial planner, Bill Kenoyer, for a discussion about living a gospel-centered life in the midst of the holidays. Don’t miss it!
