Bible History ~ by Crystal Niehoff

When it comes to Bible history, some people might ask, “Why does it matter?” After all, the Bible is a religious book, not a history book, right?

Bible history why it matters is important to understanding life skills.

If you take a closer look at the Bible, you will see that it is actually one of the most accurate historical documents of all time! In this blog post, we will discuss some of the reasons why studying Bible history is so important. We will also explore how the study of biblical history can help us to better understand God and His Word.

Why is studying Bible history important?

One of the most important reasons to study Bible history is that it helps us to better understand the character and heart of God. When we read about the events that took place in biblical times, we can begin to see how sovereign and powerful God really is! We also see how He has always been faithful to His people, even when they have turned away from Him. This knowledge can give us hope and comfort when we face difficult times in our own lives.

Another reason why studying Bible history is so important is because it helps us to better understand the Bible itself. The Bible is not just a collection of religious stories – it is actually a historical document that was written over a period of 1500 years by more than 40 different authors! As we study the history behind the Bible, we can begin to see how all of its different parts fit together to tell one unified story. Reading through the pages of the Bible, one thing becomes clear- the Lord’s ultimate plan of restoration and redemption for those who call upon Him. This understanding can help us to apply the Bible’s teachings to our own lives in a much deeper way.

As Timothy tells us to do in 2 Timothy 3:14-17, “. . . continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of . . . and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

So don’t neglect the study of Bible history! It is essential for anyone who wants to understand the Bible more fully and grow closer to the Lord. If you have never studied biblical history before, now is the perfect time to start. There are many great resources available that can help you get started on your journey.
