Do you have more curriculum than you can possibly use? Are you always running? Do you struggle to find time to clean? If so, you and I can relate.

Maybe you can relate to this aspect of me, too: I try to do it all myself. We don’t have time for a lengthy psychoanalysis of why that’s the case, so let’s just discuss the solution.

As a chronic DIYer, one of my favorite biblical accounts is from Exodus 18:13-18:

The next day Moses took his seat to serve as judge for the people, and they stood around him from morning till evening. When his father-in-law saw all that Moses was doing for the people, he said, “What is this you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit as judge, while all these people stand around you from morning till evening?” Moses answered him, “Because the people come to me to seek God’s will. Whenever they have a dispute, it is brought to me, and I decide between the parties and inform them of God’s decrees and instructions.” Moses’ father-in-law replied, “What you are doing is not good. You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone. 19 Listen now to me and I will give you some advice, and may God be with you.

Moses was doing it the hard way. But fortunately, he was the most humble man on earth (Numbers 12:3) and accepted wise counsel. If you’re like Moses and have too much to do, you also need:

the power of God, wise counsel, and an orderly plan.

I can’t give you the power of God, but I can remind you to go to Him every day for the strength and wisdom you need. Through The Homeschool Sanity Show podcast and Psychowith6, I seek to provide you with the wise counsel and the orderly plan you need to get organized. The show titled How to Organize Your Homeschool the Easy Way is a great place to start. Other Ultimate Homeschool Radio Network hosts share great tips with the Homeschool Sanity Show listeners. I also describe a year-long series on Psychowith6 that provides the plan you need. Every week, we organize a new part of your homeschooling life. You no longer have to be overwhelmed by all you have to do!

I hope you’ll join me for the 52-Week Organized Homeschool Challenge and for every episode of The Homeschool Sanity Show by subscribing. Because we can’t handle it alone!

Barb Raveling Photo I count it as a great blessing to have met Barb Raveling online. When she asked me to review her book, I Deserve a Donut, I didn’t know what to expect. • What truth journaling is and how it changed her life
  • What makes I Deserve a Donut different from other “diet” books
  • Several lies that keep us overeating
  • How her friend lost over 100 pounds
  • How this approach to weight loss works even if you give in to temptation
  • How to prevent overeating during the holidays

Scriptures mentioned: 2 Corinthians 10:5, Romans 12:2
