When You Don’t Feel Like It

How do you handle things, when you don’t feel well, or you are down? In this week’s episode, I suggested steps to take when you find yourself feeling low. After a two week break, I am back! To be honest, I wasn’t feeling it. I didn’t have a topic to talk about, I have been sick all week, and I have been a bit down in the dumps. So, staying true to myself, I decided to talk about that this week. How do you handle things, when you don’t feel well, or you are down?

In this week’s episode, I suggested one take the following steps when they find themselves feeling low:

  1. Give yourself permission to feel. You feel how you feel. Acknowledge it. Say it out loud. Ignoring or stuffing your feelings will never help you be an emotionally healthy individual.
  2. Get quiet. Grab a cup of coffee, your journal, and some background music. Sit and ponder your feelings.
  3. Ask yourself some honest questions. What is going on inside? What is the root? Is there trauma that has been triggered? Do you need to talk to someone?
  4. Share your thoughts with a safe person in your tribe. Hopefully your partner is number one on that list, but find someone safe and talk.
  5. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. We all need help. We all have things that we are dealing with. There are many great therapists that can help.
  6. Find something to be grateful for. Create a list.

Take some deep breaths and know that you are worthy of health and happiness.

Have a great week!
